This policy explains how Aptimal, Inc. uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and web application, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell or share personal data for behavioral advertising.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and function correctly across pages.
We also use related technologies, including:
- Local storage and session storage — browser storage used to hold session state and preferences
- Pixels and web beacons — small images used in emails to record whether a message was delivered or opened

Required for the Services to work. These cannot be switched off in our systems, and no consent is required for them under most laws.

3.3 Analytics
Help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. Set only with your consent where consent is required.

We configure analytics to minimize personal data and do not use it to build advertising profiles.
3.4 Email tracking
Transactional emails we send on behalf of customers (assessment invitations, notifications, rejection notices) may include a pixel recording delivery and open status. This exists so recruiters know whether a message reached a candidate. Customers control whether this is enabled where the feature permits.
4. Candidates and Cookies
If you are a job candidate using an application or assessment link, we set only the cookies needed to deliver the application form and assessment, maintain your session, and protect against abuse. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies to profile candidates.
5. Your Choices
5.1 Cookie settings. You can accept or reject non-essential categories and change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer. U.S. law generally does not require opt-in consent for the categories we use, but we provide the control regardless.
5.2 Browser controls. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Services.

5.3 Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law.
5.4 Do Not Track. There is no common industry standard for responding to browser Do Not Track signals, and we do not currently respond to them. We do not engage in cross-site tracking regardless.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The revised version will be posted with an updated date, and material changes will be notified in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
